When it comes to finding your wedding guest outfit, something to wear for a day at the races or clothes for a special occasion, look no further than the Lalage Beaumont shop and atelier, located in a three-storey Knightsbridge townhouse.
The shop on Beauchamp Place, London SW3 is a treasure trove for occasion wear, stocking a mix of elegant dresses and stylish separates. There’s something well-suited for every fixture, as well as any family celebration or work event.
We like to think of our Knightsbridge shop and atelier as an oasis of calm. Being surrounded by pale, soft furnishings and floor-to-ceiling Georgian glass windows all helps to display our collection beautifully and our highly experienced and very friendly staff will help you choose the perfect outfit for you. Once chosen, they and our in-house seamstress will work with you to make sure your clothes fit immaculately.
It is very important to us that we preserve a sense of intimacy and personal service for each of our customers. We love spending time with our clients and making their shopping experience as enjoyable as possible. It’s crucial to be able to offer everyone our undivided attention and the time to try on any number of styles.
At Lalage Beaumont we are flying the flag for luxe British tailoring. Everything we make is steeped in quality and made with exceptional fabrics. The collection is all made in London and many of the fabrics are English too. Exquisite tweed comes from Linton Tweeds in Carlisle, the same mill Chanel has used since 1924 and silk jacquards are woven exclusively for us in Suffolk at a mill that is 200 years old. Additionally, we source fabrics from the very best mills in Europe; beautiful Italian prints from Como and silk jacquards from Spain feature in every collection and are used by only the best couturiers in Europe.
Sustainability is very close to our heart. We’re passionate about not only keeping the carbon footprint of out pieces to an absolute minimum but we also believe in investment dressing and encouraging our customers to opt for pieces that will stand the test of time and can be styled in various different ways in the future too. We believe our customers should enjoy wearing their clothes over and over again, rather than being put in the back of the cupboard and forgotten about.
In order to offer our customers every opportunity to customise their outfits, as well as our off-the-peg outfits, for a small surcharge demi-couture is also available. With a specially made outfit our customers may choose a design in a different colour, or perhaps with a lower neckline, longer sleeves or shorter hemline. Lalage’s studio is above the shop and if you have made an appointment to place a special order, she will personally guide you through the options and the process (but please allow at least six weeks for a special outfit to be made).
If you are not a standard size and would like a full bespoke made-to-measure service, this is also offered. We start by taking your measurements and then preparing a toile followed by further fittings. Once created, your own personal pattern may be used again in the future which means you can always order the same fabulous dress or suit again, in a different colour or fabric.
Our attention to detail doesn’t end with our fabrics and our tailoring, we also help clients complete the look from top-to-toe by offering matching or co-ordinating hats, scarves and wraps, sumptuous suede clutch bags and gorgeous leather day bags.
