When creating the collection Lalage had, as always, longevity in mind, incorporating high-quality materials and timeless silhouettes that will never go out of fashion and you can wear and enjoy for years to come. The collection offers stylish womenswear outfits for every event, whether work, the weekend or special occasions.
“The inspiration for this collection came from wanting to create pieces that could be worn in a multitude of situations, from a business meeting to an evening event - this collection is suitable for all occasions, for now and the future” says designer Lalage.
The autumn/winter ready-to-wear collection comes in four colour palettes; neutrals, monochromes, navy hues and rich, jewel colours that work in harmony with each other and can be mixed, matched, or worn on their own.
A stand-out piece in the collection is the ‘Cortina’ shearling maxi coat. A stylish coat crafted from the most luxurious Toscana lambskins. Equally well-suited for a stroll in the Alps or around London, it will ensure the cold is kept at bay even on harshest winter days. The sumptuous reversible ‘Zermatt’ shearling coat is another covetable piece, available in dark taupe.
Coat dresses feature strongly in the collection and are a particular favourite of Lalage’s. The ‘Rosie’ style is available in a beautiful navy-based, multi-coloured Scottish tweed or in black and white knopped herringbone. This is an incredibly versatile piece, which can be worn open as a jacket over trousers or as a dress on its own. It comes with a matching fabric belt but looks ultra-smart when teamed with a contrasting wide, leather belt. Either tweed can be wonderfully set off with a bright handbag - a great look for a winter wedding guest outfit.
Dress-coats and matching dresses and coats make ideal outfits for mothers of the bride or groom, as well as wedding guest outfits. As always, Lalage has a wonderful variety of these, this season they come in rich emerald green, peacock blue and magenta. Lalage has teamed the emerald green with trousers, for a very modern mother of the bride evening look. The palette of rich tones is perfect to cheer any dull winter day or evening.
Another new shape for this collection is the sixties inspired style ‘Tina’ dress. This chic dress with its long sleeves and side pockets, creates an easy but polished and comfortable business wear look that will take you on to a cocktail party in one fell swoop. Pair this A-line dress with kitten heels, boots or ballet pumps.
Lalage’s has long championed the elegance of a trouser suit and this season her take on it can be seen in the ‘Inez’ jacket and the ‘Portia’ trousers. Both come in in a soft and flattering, season-less ‘putty’ colour. ‘Imogen’ and cropped’ Peta’ trousers available in the knopped herringbone in ever-popular black and white offers a striking and contemporary alternative. These power suits look stylish on women of any age and can be dressed down with a t-shirt in the day or worn with a silk shirt for a glamorous evening outfit. The high-waisted trousers giving the suit a smart and refined look.
Other new trousers within the collection include the flowing ‘Paloma’ wide-leg trousers, and the high-waisted Cigarette style ‘Phoebe’.
The navy ‘Imogen’ jacket with Swarovski crystals is the perfect, fun party piece. This long and slender silhouette is double-breasted and cut away at the front to flatter any shape. Wear over matching skirt or trousers for more formal events or throw on with your favourite pair of sharp jeans for a bang up to the minute party look.
